Kerrville flood recovery

November 21: Volunteers in Kerrville talk about help that has been coming from across the country while Texas looks at how to keep camps safe in the future.

November 19: The mayor of Kerrville and the governor talk about how the Hill Country has shown resilience after flash flooding this summer.

November 17: The governor joins volunteers to celebrate the reopening of a community center in Kerrville. The head of the center says it reopened four exactly four months after flash flooding in July.

November 10-14

Veterans Day

November 14: Terrell hosts a ceremony on Remembrance Day to honor 20 British cadets who died in flight training there during World War II.

November 12: At a retirement home in Dallas, veterans talk about their service and what they hope to pass to kids growing up now.

November 10: The National Medal of Honor Museum opened in Arlington this spring, and volunteers in Plano set up 1,111 flags each with the name of a service member attached.

October 6-10

Fort Worth Arts Goggle
 

October 8: Businesses along Magnolia Avenue say the ArtsGoggle draws in new customers from across the area, so the festival is a chance to introduce people who have just moved to Texas to the Near Southside.

October 10: Artists at the Fort Worth ArtsGoggle talk about how their work has evolved along with the Near Southside.

October 6: The president of the Near Southside talks about the ArtsGoggle, an annual event to celebrate local artists in Fort Worth.

September 29-October 3

Gonzales celebrates "Come and Take It"

October 3: "Come and Take It" has brought a lot of visitors to Gonzales, and the city embraces its history, saying the message is still important today.

September 29: A historian and the director of the Gonzales Memorial Museum talk about the events leading up to the first battle of the Texas Revolution and why the town painted a wedding dress to taunt Mexican troops.

October 1: The director of the Gonzales Memorial Museum has produced a couple videos highlighting the stories of those who fought in the Battle of Gonzales and later went to the Alamo.

Cotton Bowl Renovation

September 26: The president of FC Dallas and a defender talk about how hosting the World Cup in 2026 can help North Texas grow as a worldwide destination.

September 24: Coaches at Grambling and Prairie View A&M talk about playing at the Cotton Bowl during the State Fair of Texas.

September 7-10: Garland hosts the "It Came from Texas" Film Festival

September 10: Bonnie Parker's niece and Clyde Barrow's nephew say they hope the film festival can bring attention to their goal of getting Bonnie and Clyde buried together. The forensics coach at Wiley University talks about how Denzel Washington worked to revive the debate program there after starring in The Great Debaters.

September 9: A look inside the G. William Jones Film and Video Collection at SMU includes movie history, news reels and educational films.

September 7: Organizers of the "It Came from Texas" Film Festival talk about the state's history in the film industry and how stories of Texas have been told.
