Back in the olden days, we used to joke about controlling the weather. In SuperOregon, the public relations guy for the Army chemical depot even agreed to record a commercial for my show asking me to stop accusing them of controlling the weather.

I woke up early this morning to a phone call from my station alerting me to go out and ask people how they feel about tornadoes. Spoilers: they're not fans.

We're all getting to work just fine today. We just won't get home tonight.

Everything went great the last time Texas had a cold snap. In anticipation of freezing temperatures this week, we were all gently encouraged to plan ahead, including ERCOT.

Define irony: At the job where I've started questioning my future, I've now had two separate incidents in which I've had a health issue entirely connected to work. I'm still not convinced the first one happened, but I had another li'l situation this week.

Rolling blackouts have come to an end, giving us the opportunity to argue about face masks again. North Texas has climbed above freezing for the first time since last Saturday.

Not enough people are reading this blog. If only more loyal Scaiaholics had seen last week's post, we might have heeded the warnings to stay home.

This Thanksgiving I'm thankful for humanity. Sure, society and I have had our disagreements, but this week is making us all focus on what we have to be thankful for. I was at an affair Tuesday night in Dallas. While driving home, I noticed some thunderclouds lighting up. Thinking nothing of it, I went to sleep as the line of storms moved in.

This morning, the ambulance provider, MedStar, reported they had a spike in calls about crashes in the rain Monday and cold weather.
