Big Tex may have donated his boots to the Smithsonian, but he's got some new kicks for the State Fair of Texas. He was welcoming finalists for the Big Tex Choice Awards this summer.

Of course, in my role as greatest radio journalist in Texas, I take very seriously the issue of the best tasting foods at the state fair. As such, my supervisor recently ordered me to taste this year’s Big Tex Choice Award finalists.

After all we've been through as a society the past two years, I recently spoke to a fella who makes a strong point.
